Donau-Auen National Park

Incentive partners

The unique wetlands located between Vienna and Bratislava have been designated a national park since 1996.

National Park Donau-Auen is incredibly rich in habitats due to the interplay of rising and falling water levels in harmony with the Danube, which flows freely along this section of its course. These riparian wetlands are home to treasures from the plant and animal kingdoms – from rare black poplars and delicate orchid species to kingfishers, white-tailed eagles and European pond turtles. Explore the wetland forest, meadows and waters. Immerse yourself in the world of the Danube wetlands.
