Green Meetings and Green Events send a definite signal – about quality, environmental protection and energy management.

That is exactly what tourist businesses committed to the Green Meeting idea try to do. Lower Austria has the best prerequisites for Green Meetings: venues set in natural surroundings, businesses that operate in a sustainable manner  and a favorable (easily reachable) location! Many of the TOP Partners of Convention Bureau Niederösterreich have already been inspired by the idea of staging events in a way that conserves natural resources. Among them are two Austrian  trailblazers in environmental protection and  in sustainability: PCO Mondial and Palais Niederösterreich. Both of these TOP Partners are also Austrian Ecolabel licensees. That means they can certify your business event as a Green Event and award it the state-approved Ecolabel. 

Climate-friendly travel

In Lower Austria a well-developed public transport system ensures a comfortable trip to most of our TOP Partners. A trip can also be  an adventure, as shown by the Mariazell railway, listed in 2019 by the British daily The Guardian as one of Europe’s most scenic train journeys.

Sustainable social programs

Our TOP Partners understand how to draw on Lower Austria’s incredibly diverse landscapes for social  programs featuring special encounters with nature. You might try a sustainable team-building event, where participants go out together to collect wild herbs and cook with them, a canoe ride through the Danube wetlands or a tour on husky-drawn sleds.

E-biking through the countryside

Many of our conference hotels rent out e-bikes or Segways and can organize tours in the local area for your social program. Favorite cycling destinations in  Lower Austria like the Weinviertel with its many vineyards or the regions along the Danube have  a network of e-bike routes. Charging stations,  service businesses and bicycle-friendly  restaurants all along the way make e-biking through the scenic landscape as enjoyable  as it is trouble-free.
